Governance of RTOs
Recommended Good Practice for the Governance of Regional Tourism
Organisations was developed by Local Government New Zealand with
funding from the Minister of Tourism.
Local authorities are the primary funders of Regional Tourism
Organisations, which are responsible for marketing their region to
potential domestic and international visitors.
This document provides guidance for local authorities and Regional
Tourism Organisations on options for structuring Regional Tourism
Organisations, board arrangements and issues, performance management
of Regional Tourism Organisations and key relationships.
