With 300% growth in the cruise market over the last four years, increased pressure has been placed on the infrastructure that supports the industry, from port facilities to tourism services.
The cruise market accounts for over 77,000 visitor arrivals to New Zealand (year to date April 2008), 68% of whom are international visitors and 31% from the USA alone.
The Ministry of Tourism are working with GUEDO and Cruise Industry partners to ensure that cruise visitors are met with world-class facilities during their voyage in New Zealand waters.
