Baseline Review of Tourism New Zealand

During 2005, the Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) Baseline Review was undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism and overseen by a steering group drawn from the Treasury, TNZ and its Board, and the Ministry of Economic Development.

Three sets of objectives were identified for the review:

Context Objective – what is the role of government in offshore marketing;

Focus Objective - alignment of off-shore marketing with the New Zealand Tourism Strategy 2010; and

Effectiveness Objective – establishing the effectiveness of TNZ’s brand campaign in attracting visitors.

The reports below are detailed accounts covering each of these objectives. The summary report condenses the key findings from all the separate reports commissioned for the baseline review.
