The Tourism and Hospitality Workforce Strategy outlines the Tourism
and Hospitality Workforce Leadership Group’s response to the workforce
and skills issues facing the tourism industry. The Strategy identifies
strategic directions and offers solutions for addressing these issues.

Tourism Workforce and Skill Projections - October 2004
The Tourism Workforce and Skills Projections Report was commissioned
by the Tourism
Industry Association NZ, the Ministry of Tourism, the
Hospitality Association of NZ, the
Aviation Tourism and
Travel Training Organisation and the
Hospitality Standards
Institute.
The report:
- provides projections on the tourism industry’s workforce
requirements given expected growth to 2010
- identifies current and future skill requirements and
- identifies tourism employment and training issues.
Issues are discussed on a industry wide scale and are then explored
in more detail for the following tourism industry sectors:
- Accomodation
- Food and beverage
- Transport
- Activities, attractions, tours and services
