RTO Governance
Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) and local government are
inextricably linked through funding relationships as well as destination
management.
Prompted by the New Zealand Tourism Strategy 2010, RTONZ and Local
Government New Zealand identified a number of areas where they want to
work together to progress key recommendations.
This agreement has been put into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

One project where RTONZ and LGNZ have already worked together is the
Recommended Good Practice for Governance of
Regional Tourism Organisations (LGNZ section of this site).
To inform this work, RTONZ prepared a table that summarises the
constitutional structures of all RTOs.
