Horse Trekking Tender -Wairakei Forest

Tenders were invited by the Commissioner of Crown Lands for a Recreation Permit to operate a horse trekking business in the Wairakei Forest under Section 66A of the Land Act 1948. Tenders closed at 4.00pm on Friday 18 April 2008.

The previous Recreation Permit for the horse trekking business expired on 31 March 2008. The Permit term is six years from 1 April 2008 with a right of renewal for a further six years.

The Permit area consists of a base area (excluding improvements which belong to the current permit holder), zones within the forest for horse trekking and 20 hectares for grazing by horses.
